Terms of Service

By using plenty (the "Service") at plentyof.food, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What plenty is

plenty is a free, community-built map of free and low-cost food resources — food banks, pantries, free fridges, farmers markets, and surplus produce.

plenty is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any food bank, pantry, government agency, or any organization listed on the site.

2. No warranty on listings — read this

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, availability, or non-infringement.

3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will the operator of plenty (Val Polyakov) or any contributor be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

4. Your account

You may create an account using your email address. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for any activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, post abusive or illegal content, or behave in ways that harm other users.

To delete your account and associated data, email val@polyakov.me. We'll process the request promptly.

5. Submitted listings & your content

When you submit a listing or other content to plenty, you confirm that:

• The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You have permission to share it (e.g., if it's a place you operate, or public information)
• It doesn't include private addresses or personal information of third parties without their consent
• It isn't spam, hate speech, harassment, or otherwise unlawful

By submitting content, you grant plenty a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, modify, and use that content as part of the Service. You retain ownership of what you submit.

We may edit, reject, or remove any submission at our discretion — typically because a listing is duplicate, outdated, or violates these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

• Scrape or bulk-export data from this Service without our written permission
• Submit fake, misleading, or commercial-promotional listings
• Use plenty to harass, dox, or target individuals
• Attempt to interfere with the Service (DDoS, exploit attempts, automated abuse, etc.)
• Use plenty in ways that violate applicable law

7. Third-party processors

To run the Service, plenty uses third-party processors for things like hosting, email delivery, and map rendering. We choose providers we trust and limit what they receive to the minimum needed to do their job. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data flows.

8. Reporting incorrect or harmful listings

Every listing has a "Report this listing" link, or you can email val@polyakov.me. We act in good faith on credible reports. If you believe a listing infringes your rights (e.g., trademark, copyright, privacy), include enough detail for us to identify it and we'll review promptly.

9. Changes to the Service or these Terms

plenty is a hobby project. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time, including the Service itself, without prior notice. We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
